Girls from the Marolles attend the Greenlight for Girls Conference

“Your future is full of possibilities.” This is what 200 young women learnt at the first Greenlight for Girls conference worldwide last November hosted by the International School of Brussels. The day was about inspiring girls to embrace the magic of science that is all around us every day.

The girls interacted with hands-on science, maths, engineering and technology activities and were encouraged to “Be ambitious! Be curious! Learn, learn, learn.” With the assistance of Serve the City, 17 girls from our partner associations, Caria and Foyer des Jeunes, were able to participate in the conference. G4G is dedicated to the mission of education and empowering girls to raise their families and communities out of poverty through promoting a deeper understanding of science, math and technology. This conference was the first of what is hoped to be an annual event in Brussels, and one which is planned to spread to other places where the Greenlight for Girls board members are based: Europe, the USA, India and Africa.
