Painting Gesu Michael, 24 U.S.A: “Today we painted the meeting room of Gesu, which is an abandoned home. Homeless people live there while they are trying to get citizenship or a job. We met a guy named Sanjo who was living there for 2.5 years, and was still waiting for citizenship. He came in and offered to help, so we gave him a roller. The people were quite appreciative, but the children just wanted to play and disrupt us, which is normal. Then as we were leaving someone named Anna came with a key for us. She also lived there and said it was a nice place to live, but it was kind of disgusting. This was mainly because there was a dead fish hanging out on the floor. So I picked it up and threw it away. Overall, it was a good day, aside from unfortunately having to prep for painting over an awesome piece of graffiti. It was cool to see several people come in and out thanking a uand giving us the thumbs up of approval.”
