Alex and Maddie volunteer at Nativitas in the Marolles, where they clean, serve coffee, and spend time with the homeless or elderly patrons. “Last time I volunteered, I interacted with more people, it was really rewarding,” begins Alex. “Today, I cleaned an upstairs room at Nativitas, which was harder and more intense. But whatever [the organization] needs is service.” Interacting with people or cleaning a room are both ways of contributing, “they’re just different types.”
