Stefan included in the Serve the City Sainte Catherine group, volunteered to one Saturday to walk the streets bearing hot tea, coffee, and biscuits for neighbors who are homeless. Even though “there was genuine appreciation” for the warm snacks, folks also asked his group for gloves and coats. Realizing that these items of winter clothing are very much needed, Stefan shared his idea to start a collection for those items at his school, “so we can bring them next time.”
“I met one guy,” Stefan begins, “who was formerly a hockey goalie for a Latvian team. I play hockey, too, and I felt instantaneously connected to him.”
