BVW Stories: Clos Sainte Therese

Clos Ste Thérèse John, 47, Belgium: “We visited Clos Sainte Therese, which is a center for the homeless in Saint Gilles. We first ate lunch with the homeless people, each one at a different table. We listened to their stories. It was a wonderful time getting to hear their stories. Each lunch cost 2 euros. This center also provides showers, laundry services, dental services, social services, and lockers. They also provide three meals a day. After the lunch, we cleaned the kitchen thoroughly. We left it “spic-n-span”! After the cleaning up was done, we were able to have conversation with the staff at the center. They are very genuine and kind, with big hearts for the homeless and their needs. A gentleman gave us a tour of the whole building and explained to us their various services. It is an amazing center in the Saint Gilles and is making a difference in that community. All in all, we had a wonderful day – a day well spent.”
