I love the Sainte Catherine neighborhood. It embodies the collision of different cultures. On one side you’ve got a beautiful Catholic Church, another church which currently hosts Afghan refugees, and across the square, in one of the side streets, the social restaurant Le Phare welcomes everyone with a smile and a hot meal.
I’ve discovered the multitude of Sainte Catherine’s faces by being a part of the Serve the City Serve+ project. I found out that Sainte Catherine isn’t just about fancy restos and hip clubs. It’s home to asylum seekers, the biggest Roma community in Brussels, and to folks trying very hard to beat their addictions. Sainte Catherine has many interesting stories to tell, and I hope you’ll come discover them with us with only one or two hours of your time every week. Interested and want to help?
