I was there this morning at 6 (4 November 2013) when the police stormed the blue door at Gesu. The same blue door countless volunteers have walked in and out of, including the US Ambassador. I stayed long enough to be part of the rabble, moved along by the police. I didn’t shout as much as others.

Last night (3 November 2013) I think Oasis found a place for some people to stay and they were trying to move about 70 people. I fell asleep before I heard what happened. I saw the message this morning at 4 and prayed for a while, then felt like I should go over. I don’t know why. But sometimes God just wants his people present. I prayed for all involved.

200 people were forcibly evicted from a church known as Gesu on Monday morning, 4 November. They were refugees or Roma or people living in poverty with no place to go. They had been living there for 3 years, with the permission of the owner and the city. Serve the City has been involved with them the whole time. The eviction was unnecessarily abrupt and violent. We all grieved the terrifying impact on children.

Now our volunteers, led by Katie and Ludovic, are still trying to find the former residents of Gesu and are planning a Christmas party for them. Please support us so we can support them.
