Collectmet collects and shares the unsold fruits and vegetables from the Abattoir market in Anderlecht every Sunday, with the aim of using it to feed those in need, and reducing food waste. Volunteers help to collect the food once the Sunday market finishes, and store it in the big shared fridge onsite.
The Parc Parmentier is an open space of 9 hectares near the Tram Museum reserved for the benefit of youth from disadvantaged backgrounds in Brussels. We partner with Solidarité Grand Froid – an organisation who’s mission is to make life better for people living on the streets of Brussels. In other words; providing assistance to people with psychological, physical or social problems by organising fundraising activities and collecting goods that are distributed to those who are in need of it. The main focus is to ensure that the homeless in the Brussels region can enjoy clean clothes and shoes as well as having access to care products throughout the year.
