Hello everyone! The Humanitarian Hub is a day center open to all public. It was born from the collaboration of several non-governmental organizations including the Red Cross, Doctors of the World, Doctors Without Borders, The Citizen Platform and SOS Jeune. It receives mainly migrants in transit, asylum seekers, homeless people, and offers various basic services such as reception and hot drinks, social services, medical, legal, food, access to hygiene ... The Day Center of the Hub, managed by the Belgian Red Cross, is open 7 days a week from 11am to 7pm and offers two meal distributions each day. In this context, we call upon your generosity and commitment to give a hand to the teams, notably through the following tasks: Contribute to the cleanliness of the day center Participate in the smooth running of food distributions (waste sorting, cleaning the canteen ...) Prepare and distribute hot drinks (tea/coffee) Create a social link with the beneficiaries Supporting the team of polyvalent collaborators in the various tasks to ensure a quality reception Practical information: In order to volunteer at the Hub, you must be over 18 years old. The Hub is located at 94 avenue du Port, 1000, Brussels. (Near Tour et Taxis) The day starts at 11:00 with a briefing. If you are registered for the morning shift you will participate in the briefing with the team. If you are registered for another shift and therefore arrive during the day at the Hub, declare yourself to a staff member as a Serve The City volunteer upon arrival and ask for the Team Leader. The Day Center holds a monthly briefing for new volunteers. Although not mandatory, it is recommended that you attend one of these meetings prior to your first volunteering at the center.
