On the Global Volunteer Day, all the Serve the City organisations, from Ireland to Australia, gather and spread kindness on the same day, in their respective cities, at the same time. So join us to be a part of our global volunteering  movement!

Available volunteer opportunities

Petites Soeurs des Pauvres

Help Petites Soeurs de Pauvres, an order of nuns who provide housing, meals and much more to 100 elderly people in the Marolles neighbourhood, continue their amazing work. Volunteers are needed to lend a helping hand with distributing an afternoon snack and help set up a concert activity. For many of the elderly residents, these events are the highlight of their week, so you will be making a very big impact by helping prep for the event!

Victor du Pre

Victor du Pre, a women’s shelter, is looking for volunteers to spend a fun and activity filled afternoon with the kids staying in the centre! A small team of volunteers will run different activities for the kids, including arts and crafts and some board games. Come help us put a smile on the kids’ faces!

Games at Gulledelle

We are organising a day to play outdoor games and do some amazing crafts with the children living at the SamuSocial Gulledelle centre, where our Gulledelle Homework Club happens every week. Are you joining us? Register, put on your brightest smile and come play with us!

Street Kindness

Our city, as every big city, has its beautiful sides, but it also has its less beautiful sides. A lot of people are driven into homelessness for a variety of reasons. Every homeless person has a need, a story, a name.

We walk the streets of Brussels, we meet the homeless. We know where they are, and we know their needs and their names. And we come back, remembering their needs and names. We serve them with lunch bags and hygiene articles, shoes and clothes, a hot coffee, and, most importantly, we have an open ear for them.

Would you like to join us and spread kindness, and help serve the city?

Meeting point: Serve the City, Place van Meyel 15, 1040 Etterbeek

What to bring: Your STIB card or coins to buy a metro ticket, your own drink/lunch if needed, comfortable walking shoes and adequate clothing depending on the weather forecast for that day.
