Food4Friends Stephanie, 16 years old: « After meeting Afghan refugees today it opened my eye to the World of war that the news fails to cover. I almost cried when I learnt of the violent horror and the long journey these people go through to go to a place that they believe is better. I am heart broken. The most heart wrenching moment was when I had to translate a letter for one of the men which said he had to leave Europe immediately, I couldn’t get myself to share the news with him. All this makes me wonder why people who are just like us get treated so badly. I myself am guilty of looking down at these people in the past but now I plan to help them in as many ways as possible. »
