In December 2020 we unite for a worldwide celebration of generosity.

What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organisations to transform their communities and the world.

Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do goodPeople around the globe come together in unity to spread kindness and generosity to support various communities and causes.

In 2020, Giving Tuesday is more important than ever!

Among other things, the covid-19 crisis has reminded us how lucky we were to have a home, a family, and friends. However, many people were not as lucky as we were, and the crisis hit them especially hard. Winter is here and vulnerable people need our help now more than ever. The covid-19 crisis has also greatly impacted non-profit organizations and NGOs. A recently published study realized by the Kind Baudoin Foundation shows that 49% of non-profit organizations and NGOs suffer from important financial losses and lack of funding due to the covid-19 pandemic (source). Serve the City is no exception. Since the beginning of the crisis, our organization has lost 70% of its income streams.

This is why Serve the City has decided to extend the Giving Tuesday movement: we will not only celebrate it on December 1st, but during the entire month of December! Because one should never stop spreading kindness.
