2024 was a year of intense activity and significant growth for the Serve the City team. We faced exciting challenges, embraced new opportunities, and most importantly, continued to make a real difference in our community.
One of the biggest changes of the year was our much-needed office relocation. Our team had grown so much that we were bursting at the seams! In October 2024, we were thrilled to move into a new space within the USquare complex. This move not only provides us with more office space but also places us within a vibrant community of NGOs, fostering collaboration and shared purpose. Despite the temporary disruption of the move, we remained focused on developing our projects, enhancing our volunteer activities, and improving the services we provide to our community.
And serve we did! Throughout this busy year, our incredible network of volunteers dedicated their time and energy to building a better community in Brussels, Leuven, and Wavre. An astounding 6,001 volunteers contributed 32,165 hours of service, achieving remarkable results. Together, we distributed over 280,000 meals, a feat made possible through our invaluable partnership with Community Kitchen. This effort made a tangible impact on the lives of many and demonstrated our commitment to combating food insecurity.

Another HUGE highlight of the year was the launch of ServeNow 4.0, which introduced several exciting new features, including a web app that enables all our volunteers to manage their shifts directly from their computers.

2024 also saw the strengthening of key partnerships. We collaborated with 40 corporate partners whose teams generously supported us through our corporate volunteering program, providing crucial on-the-ground assistance.
We also focused on creating enriching experiences for children. We organized 10 trips and special activities for more than 100 children and families from Samusocial centers. These included exciting outings to the Euro Space Center and the Lego Discovery Centre, as well as engaging climbing and ceramic workshops. And of course, we continued our beloved tradition of Saint Nicholas visits!
All of this incredible work would not have been possible without you. Whether you are a volunteer, a donor, a staff member, an intern, or a partner, 2024 was a truly remarkable year for Serve the City because you were there to make it happen. Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication. We are deeply grateful for your contribution to building a stronger, more compassionate community.
