Serve the City Belgium is seeking a dynamic and passionate Corporate Volunteering Events Intern to join our team. This is a full-time position (32-35 hours per week) with flexible working days and hours, although typically Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 17:00.

Your Role

As Corporate Volunteering Events Intern, you will play a pivotal role in leading volunteer groups during various community projects, ensuring an engaging and impactful experience for all involved. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, flexible, and able to react quickly to last-minute challenges while maintaining a solution-focused approach.

Working alongside our team, you’ll:

  • Take charge of groups of volunteers during community projects, ensuring smooth operations from start to finish. Provide guidance, motivation, and support throughout the volunteering process.
  • Conduct pre-event briefings to prepare volunteers for their tasks, and post-event debriefing to reflect on the experience, gather feedback, and celebrate achievements.
  • Assist our Corporate Support team with organising and coordinating events, ensuring all logistical and volunteer needs are met.
  • Capture moments through pictures and videos during events to create memories and help promote future initiatives.

Who You Are

  • A person with strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, guide, and manage a team of volunteers.
  • A natural communicator who enjoys engaging with a variety of people, from volunteers to participants and partners. Public speaking skills are required.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Able to react quickly and effectively to changes or last-minute requests.
  • Proactive in identifying potential issues and finding solutions on the go. Respond effectively to unexpected challenges or changes during events, ensuring solutions are found quickly to maintain the momentum of the project.
  • Able to work autonomously while maintaining a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Organised and hands-on. We are a small team where everyone rolls their sleeves up and gets stuck in.
  • Fluent in French and English (Dutch is a plus).
  • Available to work on a flexible schedule, with occasional participation in events.
  • Someone who understands that a smile is an essential tool of the job.
